Student AI Creativity Lab
Sample Agenda
Welcome and Orientation
Each Lab begins by introducing participants to the purpose and structure of the experience. Students are oriented to AI as a creative tool and are encouraged to approach the Lab with curiosity, experimentation, and openness. Facilitators outline the Learn → Create → Present flow so students understand what they will be working toward.
Learn: Understanding AI Through Examples
Students are introduced to selected AI tools using clear, age-appropriate language and live examples. Discussion focuses on what AI can do, what it cannot do, and how it shows up in everyday creative and digital experiences. Ethical questions such as authorship, bias, and originality are introduced in an accessible way.
Create: Guided Creative Exploration
Students engage in hands-on creative activities using AI tools. Working individually or in small groups, they experiment with guided prompts connected to visual art, storytelling, media, or other creative formats. Facilitators support exploration while emphasizing decision-making, iteration, and personal expression rather than technical perfection.
Prepare to Present
Students select a piece or idea to share and receive light coaching on how to talk about their process. Emphasis is placed on explaining creative choices, how AI influenced the work, and what they discovered along the way.
Showcase and Reflection
Each Lab concludes with a structured showcase where students present their work to peers, educators, or invited guests. The group reflects on creative decisions, challenges, and surprises, building communication skills and confidence. Showcases may take the form of informal presentations, classroom exhibitions, or family and community events.
Closing and Takeaways
The Lab concludes with reflection on what was learned and how AI may show up in future creative, academic, or personal projects. Students leave with increased confidence, curiosity, and a clearer understanding of AI’s role in creative work.
